How to choose the best of all computer cabinets – a buyer’s guide
At the moment there are dozens of different computer cabinets available for sale. But while it is more or less easy to tell which computer cabinets are of high quality and which aren’t, choosing the best one hasn’t become much easier. Even when we buy one of high quality computer cabinets, it doesn’t mean that we’ve bought the right one! There are a few things we have to do if we hope to buy a computer cabinet that’ll suit to our needs.
The size of your new computer cabinet:
The minimal size of computer cabinets is about 30 inches by 30 inches – just big enough for a computer’s central unit and a display to fit in. But there are cabinets that are three or even four times as large. Does it mean that the bigger cabinet, the better? Not necessarily.
When shopping for computer cabinets you have to think about the space a cabinet will occupy at home. If you can’t move in your room, it doesn’t matter if you have the biggest of all computer cabinets – you’ll have to buy a smaller one.
Cabinet shape:
But small computer cabinets aren’t usually very comfortable, so what shall we do if we really want to work in comfort, but without using up a lot of space?
There’s the moment when the cabinet’s shape comes on a scene. Computer cabinets can have dozens of various shapes, so choosing the one that best suits to your needs shouldn’t be a problem. There are two most common shapes of computer cabinets that might be helpful when dealing with limited space: double rectangle with curving extension and half-oval computer stand.
The first one allows you to create a cockpit-like workspace – it’ll be hard to get in, but easy to work – and the second allows more workspace, but with easier communication with the rest of the room (no angles to hit in). It’s not like these kinds of computer cabinets are better than the rest, but they save up the most space and allows the highest comfort of the work.
Final tip
Remember – choose these computer cabinets that allow easy attaching plugs. It is especially important with USB ports. And use your common sense.
