When dining room tables become too old and used, we often decide to throw them away and spend a lot of money to buy another one. While this solution has many strong points, there is an alternative – we can simply refresh or redecorate our dining room tables, restoring them their old look.
Don’t Throw The Old Table Away!
We may not even know it, but we get used to dining room tables especially their height. If you don’t like to spend a few months getting used to a new one, you may consider if a simple change of your dining room table look won’t be enough.
Refreshing Your Dining Room Table:
Nowadays almost every scratch in wood can be masked or repaired, even when you don’t have any special tools. When we’ve decided to refresh our dining room tables, let’s start by simply washing them with non-alkaline soap. This will let us see in what shape our dining room tables really are. Then, if the table is dark, we can mask the scratches using colored shoe polish or one of the many commercial products available today. The procedure is simple and it will make your dining room table look much better than before.
Redecorating Dining Room Tables:
Redecorating is even easier than refreshing – simply change the tablecloth and/or the centerpiece. That’s all we need to change the look of our dining room tables from battered to shiny and fashionable.
Voila! A whole "new" dining room table.
