Everyone knows what great kitchen decor looks like – or we think we do. Or to tell the truth, how our friends’ kitchen decor should be like. It is easy to have good ideas when we’re not personally affected. Changing our kitchen decor is surely a stressful situation, and the stress usually reduces our creativity and in most cases shuts off our common sense. Here are some tips you might find useful – they’re usually just a common sense applied, but it is a common sense that is often missing in kitchen decor.
The Kitchen Work Triangle:
The working triangle (between fridge, oven and a cooktop/stove) should be as small as possible. As a result the most important part of our kitchen can become cramped and we have to work out some decor means just to be able to look at the triangle without an attack of claustrophobia. You can
think of detaching it from the rest of the kitchen by painting the triangle a lighter color than the rest of the kitchen or using some white or cream colors on the walls around it.
Making Our Kitchens Friendlier:
We always want the kitchen to be spacious. But in most cases all we do is to make the kitchen look spacious by eliminating small “unnecessary” items. We should use everything we have to make the kitchen decor as friendly and warm as possible. One possibility is hang some framed prints on the walls:
