Large Chandeliers: Where To Use Large Chandeliers

Both large chandeliers and their smaller cousins are proof that most styles go in circles:

They’re in –>

They’re out –>

They’re back in!

Chandeliers were considered large, awkward and old-fashioned pieces of decoration. Besides, they were really poor light sources and in the last twenty years they have almost vanished from our houses. But things have changed and now the chandeliers are back.

How to choose your chandeliers:

1. The only problem is that, unless we ask our fathers or grandfathers, we can have problem with choosing a proper one. As the result, we often buy chandeliers that are too large, too shiny or otherwise flawed. While buying chandeliers it is extremely important to choose the size properly. Make certain that your room can support the size of your light. If your chandeliers are too big for your room, they will seem as if they are about to fall down. Yet, if they are too small, all the decorative effect will vanish.

For instance, these large chandliers need space to be carried gracefully. A tiny powder room or a hallway would seem dwarfed because all anyone would notice is the chandlier.

However, in a spacious and elegant dining room, these beauties would be stunning!

2. You also need to be careful while choosing a chandelier’s style. Remember that chandeliers are by definition the most visible pieces of rooms’ decoration. It is especially true if they are large. As the result, they are perceived as the axis of the room and all other pieces of decoration will be judged compared to the chandeliers.

As we don’t usually decorate the room in this order (chandelier first, furniture later), we must pay a lot of attention while choosing large chandeliers. They simply have to match the rest of the furniture perfectly.
