Choosing shower curtain rods:
Shower curtain rods are extremely useful pieces of bathroom hardware as (along with shower curtains) they allow having a shower without having a shower booth. It is not surprising that almost every tub owner buys shower curtain rods. The problems begin when they have to choose the right rod’s model and they start to install it.
Straight shower curtain rods versus curved ones:
There are two basic kinds of shower curtain rods – straight and curved. Straight shower curtain rods are better-looking, but they offer less elbow space during a shower than curved curtain rods. The latter give you more space and more comfort, but they don’t usually look terribly good. The choice truly depends on your bathroom style.
If the bath is elegant and you have a large tub, straight shower curtain rods are much better. On the other hand if your bathroom is more a bathroom than a piece of art, curved shower curtain rods will be much better solution.
Installation issues:
When you decide on the kind of shower curtain rods that is the best for your bathroom, there is one more thing left to do – install them. There are two basic mistakes people make during shower curtain rods’ installation. The first one is installing the rod too high, the second – installing it too low.
Remember that shower curtain rods should be placed just high enough to give the tallest member of your family easy access to the tub, but low enough to avoid jamming of the curtain. Usually 5 inches more than the height of tallest member of your family is enough.
