Portable Carports: Protect Your House And Vehicles Using Potable Carports
Portable carports are structures that are used to house and protect vehicles, usually from the elements such as rain and snow. They are able to accommodate various lengths and sizes of vehicles, from small cars to RV’s to boats and trailers.
Carports can either be freestanding, or they can be attachments to an existing building or wall. These carports differ from conventional garages in that they are usually found with less than four walls. The most common ones only have two walls that meet at one of the corners of the carport. This means that carports can offer less protection than garages, but also that they can offer much better ventilation. Carports are also easier and cheaper to construct than full-blown garages, because they do not need to be enclosed spaces, and they use less building materials than garages.
The carport first appeared in the 1930s, when an architect realized that cars were becoming increasingly more durable, as technology advanced. With this in mind, he thought that cars did not need as much protection as they did before, when the automobile industry was relatively new. The first carports were merely structural components of a house, perhaps installed in lieu of or in addition to a garage.
Portable carports allow one to have a carport with them even on a trip or vacation. This can be a real lifesaver, especially when going to locations where heavy rains, snow, and exposure to the elements can be expected. These portable carports can easily be disassembled and reassembled anywhere one might wish.
These portable carports come in different varieties and degrees of protection, but most are built around four metal poles and a canvas roof, much like a tent would be. Camping veterans who have experience setting up tents should find no problems in trying to set these portable carports up. Depending on the degree of protection that is desired, there are portable carports that have no walls, two walls, and four walls with door flaps that can be zipped shut.
Portable carports which have no roofs are in fact just canopies large enough to house vehicles. This means that apart from their intended purpose as carports, these portable canopies can be used as a venue for outdoor gatherings, such as garden weddings and parties. They can also be used to host large lunches or dinners in the garden or by the poolside.
Portable carports are available from a wide variety of manufacturers, and in a wide variety of sizes. When selecting one to buy, it would be wise to keep the manufacturer’s reputation in mind. Getting a cheap carport from some seedy company may seem like a bargain, until it develops some unintended ‘ventilation holes’!
