There are several window box decorating ideas for Christmas that will add spice to any holiday season, Sure, your house sparkles, your Christmas tree is grand, and almost everything inside your house is like a product of some magical spectacle. All, that is, except your window boxes. Decorating ideas for Christmas simply don’t include them. Now, they look forlorn in the middle of the entire Christmas spectacle you have going on. But there are ways to make your window boxes a part of Christmas. Here are some ideas to transform your boxes into spectacular Christmas décor:
1. Insert miniature Christmas trees. These are available in garden stores and include evergreen, ivy or rosemary. To make a striking impact, pair them with each other or display alone. For convenience, insert your miniature trees into your window box without removing them from their pots. This will make them easier to take out once the holidays are over.
2. Large glass ornaments and bulbs should be arranged in tidy piles inside your window box. There are tiny white and colored lights available that you can intertwine through the piles. This will give your window box an added sparkle.
3. Get some small boxes and cover these with bright decorative wraps made of cellophane. Tie with festive looking bows that complement the wraps. Pile them up in your window boxes for that Christmas feel. Miniature lights can add some magic, too.
4. Decorating your window box with nutcrackers is also another way. Just line them up along the window boxes. You can also consider hanging stockings in the exterior of your window box and add miniature Christmas lights.
5. A traditional Christmas look would be to place poinsettias on your boxes and finish it up with red, green, silver or golden bows. Make sure that the material of your bow can withstand the outdoors.
6. Dwarf conifers, skimmia or euonymous can also be used to fill up your window box. Once done, gather up those old mittens and make a garland out of them. Drape the garland across the front of each window box.
7. You and your family can decorate large pinecones by rolling them in white glue then piling them up with different shades of shimmer and glitter. Once done, fill your window boxes with the pinecones.
8. Get quirky and create a toy tree. You need to glue some old toys to a foam cone. Once the toy tree is formed, insert one in each window box you have. Then, wind miniature lights around each toy tree.
